TASK FORCES
Action Long Island (ALI) has established various Task Forces to meet the goals of the residents and businesses of LI and present great networking opportunities. As a prospective ALI member/benefactor, you are welcome to attend any two Task Force meetings at no cost. As an ALI member/benefactor, you can attend any of our Task Force meetings.
Task Force Mission Statements
Energy & Environment:
The Energy Task Force works to provide Long Islanders with safe, reliable and competitive forms of energy. This task force is an advocate for the development of Federal and State statutes that will provide energy tax credits for the small business owner and the homeowners of Long Island. The task force is charged with examining and supporting the development of cost effective independent power generating facilities.
Healthcare:
The mission of the Healthcare Task Force is to promote wellness, help ensure quality healthcare and contain healthcare costs for businesses and residents on Long Island. The healthcare task force facilitates dialog between insurance companies, healthcare providers, healthcare advocates, business organizations, residents, and legislators.
Housing & Development:
ln an attempt to lower the cost of housing and other properties on Long Island, the primary objective of the Task Force is to review, and make recommendations to control and lower property taxes as well as finding a way to retain Long Island's young professional talent by providing them with diverse and affordable housing options.

The commonality of problems, concerns and challenges calls for attention to be given to those entrepreneurs and small business enterprises in our community. The Small Business Task Force will serve the business community as a catalyst for issues related to action, a voice to the government and its agencies and a forum for small businesses. The Task Force hopes to achieve greater recognition for that part of the business community, help increase sensitivity to the specific problems and concerns affecting small business and give broader recognition to their contributions and the effects on Long Island's economic and social climate.

The Transportation Task Force's mission is to build a sustainable future through improved and smarter transportation on Long Island.
Young Adult:
The Young Adult mission is to give young individuals a platform where they could have a voice on issues in Long Island.

Housing & Development Task Force- meets the Third Tuesday of every month from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM
Healthcare Task Force- meets the Third Wednesday of every month from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM
Transportation Task Force- meets the Fourth Wednesday of every month from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM
