Our Kids in Action, a not for profit 501(c)(3) organization, partners with the business community, elected officials, civic leaders and educators to promote character education, wellness, and leadership skills for Long Island middle school students. Together, the many participating Long Island school districts and Our Kids in Action recognize the potential of Long Island's youth and encourage them to make a mark within their community.

The Our Kids in Action Annual Youth Conference provides a wonderful platform to engage students and spark interaction with each other and inspirational guest speakers.

History

Our Kids in Action was established in 2000 by Action Long Island. Since its inception, Our Kids in Action has been hosting an annual youth conference gathering middle school students and faculty from public and private schools across Long Island. The conference is free for the schools and encourages the leaders of tomorrow by providing examples of personal success, achievement, and character. Past conference speakers have included actress Allisyn Arm, athlete Sarah Reinersten, poet Mattie Stepanek, former NASA astronaut Guy Gardner, inspirational motivatorJohn Basedow, Brooke Ellison and Ed Gerety.
